Built in the 17th-18th century, the Nikolaidis Mansion is a typical architectural example of a two-storey residence of the wealthy Patmian bourgeoisie of the time.

However, some of its features make it unique, such as the built-in chapel, the “ampataros” (a wooden structure with a dual role as storage room and partition) and the two gothic-style windows with painted decoration and woodcarvings.

In addition to the mansion’s domestic equipment, a small archaeological collection, drawings and documents are also on display, helping visitors explore the island’s history from prehistoric times to the modern era, while offering an insight into the island’s mansions and the way of life of those who once inhabited them.
