The Archaeological Collection of the Castle of Monemvasia is housed in a former Muslim mosque in the Lower Town, opposite the Church of Christ Elkomenos. Over time, the building has served various purposes.
Its exhibits shed light on different aspects of the history and character of the castle-town of Monemvasia, which was an important center of the Byzantine and Frankish Peloponnese. Among the most impressive exhibits, you’ll find a fully restored Byzantine iconostasis from the earliest church of the castle.
