The Archaeological Museum of Skyros offers two galleries, where visitors can admire significant finds from key archaeological sites on the island, such as the prehistoric settlement at Palamari and cemeteries from the historical times.

On display are ceramic, metalwork and sculptural artifacts dating from the 3rd millennium B.C. to the 2nd century A.D. Among the most distinctive exhibits are a Cypriot flask, an Attic Geometric pyxis with horse figurines on the lid and a ritual rhyton shaped like a horse.

In a small adjoining gallery, showcasing the L. Kostiris Donation Collection, visitors can slip bodily into the past thanks to a reconstruction of a typical Skyrian household, along with characteristic specimens of the island’s rich folk heritage. Finally, in the museum’s courtyard, stone artifacts from various periods are also on display, complemented by the Aegean environs.
