One of the city’s gems, this neoclassical building from 1890 attributed to architect Ernst Ziller, once housed the Municipal Market.

The Museum was inaugurated in 2013 to reveal around 1,700 finds that tell the story of the land of Elis, dating from prehistory to the Post-Byzantine era.

Classified in thematic sections associated with Settlements, Religion and People-Ideas, the Museum’s exhibits reveal seminal historical events, aspects of social organization, daily life and official events, as well as the beliefs and convictions of the people who inhabited the region of Elis over the centuries.
