In Archondiki, Psara, a Mycenaean settlement, laid out with roads and mud-brick houses in clusters, was discovered.
Even more important, however, is the coastal necropolis, where more than 160 chamber tombs were excavated, containing rich grave goods such as swords, tools, ceramics, jewellery and seal stones. Among them was a tholos tomb, whose owner was worshipped as a hero until the 5th century BC.
