The Archaeological Museum of Megara is housed in a 19th century building, the former Town Hall, and the exhibition extends over two floors and is organized across four exhibition halls.

The Museum’s collection includes finds from the ancient town of Megara, from the 8th century BC to the 2nd century AD, including marble sculptures and reliefs, inscriptions and funerary stelae, burial gifts, tools and everyday utensils.

The ancient city of Megara developed significant commercial and colonial activity, as it possessed two fortified ports: Nisaia on the Saronic Gulf and Pagae on the Corinthian Gulf.
