Thanks to his description it was rediscovered in 1853 and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it is one of the most important feats in the history of mountain at the same time and meeting in the middle, thanks to Eupalinos\u2019 precise mathematical calculations. The tunnel is 1,036m long and measures 1.8\u00d71.8m on average; it channelled water to the cisterns and fountains of the ancient town by means of clay pipes.
