The complex dates back to the Protopalatial period (ca. 1900\u20131700 BC), while the central structure has been dated to the Neopalatial period (1700\u20131650 BC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This well-organized palace, sitting at an altitude of 1,200 meters, had a close and enduring connection to the Idaean Cave (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Idaion Antron<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), the great Minoan sanctuary. During the excavations, archaeologists uncovered a wealth of finds that highlight its significance as a major Minoan center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section
